I took a week's off from the newsletter and you’ll see why below 👇 but now we’re back.
I made a video about 23 lessons I have learned and one of those was about shifting our mindsets. It emphasized focusing on a “get to do something” mindset versus a “have to do something” one. It makes you focus on all the possibilities you have at your disposal compared to so many others in the world who would do anything to be in the place you are right now. So take a moment to enjoy it and really appreciate it.
The same mindset can be applied to other areas of life. The area I want to talk about is `money`. It’s often seen as something to always make more of in life.
How about we change the make to unlock instead?
If you work a full-time or even part-time job the money gets unlocked by the value you give with your time, effort, skills.
Now the game becomes how you can unlock more money in different ways. For example, one of my professors in grad school taught an online course on the side on a semi-annual basis. This allowed him to exchange value that works for him even when he’s teaching a lecture at the university. Eventually, this will lead to him just teaching for the sake of teaching and nothing else.
It might make you think “great can’t even do that right” and there is no hope but there’s always more time to try things. The main goal is to find out what money means to you. It’s a personal topic that is taught in a general way but needs to be thought about on an individual basis. Break it down and you’ll realize there are so many different factors that influence its value.
So remember to not fall into the trap of unlocking money all the time. There are enough people who have unlocked more than enough of it but have lost precious time with the people they care about. There is an opportunity cost for everything and it’s up to you to take control of what that will be.
Find the balance for you and you’ll be smooth sailing ⛵.

Which way do you think the current flows?
A really astonishing visual representation of the size of space and the human body. It will force you to push and at the same time mentally create an image of the largest objects in space. The ending feels like it goes on and on with just mind-blowing sizes. - LINK
